"Neso"

Posted by Homer Ailstock at 4:30 PM

Homer Ailstock: Arlington, Virginia, United States; I have been working with clay on my own now for the past ten years and have been refining my techniques by working with various local clay artists like Ramone Camerillo and Jason Alexander. I have also attended workshops of nationally recognized potters such as Cynthia Bringle and Fong Choo. My current work is focused on pushing the clay to its structural limits while maintaining an aesthetic balance. I like Raku and Sagger firings for their largely unpredictable surface treatment which creates some tension in contrast to the controlled form.

"Moons of Neptune" will show at the Arlington County Central Library for the month of June 2009. Check m' out on the lower level in the vitrines around the staircase.
